IV Seminar for doctoral students organized by Polish Rectors Foundation and Institute of Knowledge Society
The main topic of the seminar was the quality of academic education. During the Seminar, the Polish Rectors Foundation President (prof. Jerzy Woźnicki) presented the current issues concerning higher education system in Poland. Afterwards Prof. Bohdan Macukow (The Accreditation Committee of Universities of Technology) and Marek Wąsowicz (the Chairman of the Universities Accreditation Commission) delivered presentation "The assessment of the quality of academic education in the light of activities of environmental commissions". After the vibrant debate between the doctoral students and the professors - representatives from the environmental commissions, Prof. Józef Lubacz - the Chairman of the General Council of Science and Higher Education presented the voice of Council in this matter. In the third part of the Seminar - three representatives from the group of doctoral students presented the main ideas of their doctoral thesis. After their presentations, other participants of Seminar and Professors gave them some advices concerning researches carried out in their doctoral thesis. This Seminar was the last one in the academic year 2012/2013. The doctoral students expressed the will to participate in the Seminars, which will be organized in the next academic year. They accented the value of these meetings such as the possibility to form the substantive relationship with the leading experts of higher education system and science in Poland. They also indicated the Polish Rectors Foundation as the great place to create the scientific area for the doctoral students which doctoral thesis are related to the topic of knowledge society especially with the problems of higher education systems and science research in Poland and in the world.
